Stephanie Schoeley makes Whitecaps London proud: the former club defender reached Providence College and Canada's under-20 national team after five years in our program. From a London-area club MVP honour to university recognition and a continental youth title, her journey gives today's players a club story to celebrate. 123

Five years at Whitecaps London

Stephanie spent five years in Whitecaps London OPDL and earned the club's MVP honour for the 2021-22 season. She grew up in Thedford, and the London program was part of her route through Ontario soccer. For our club, the five-year span is especially meaningful: she was part of this environment long before she appeared on a national team roster. 12

After Whitecaps London, she spent two years at NDC Ontario. Providence credits her with helping that side win a senior provincial league regular-season title and a National Development Centre title in 2023. The move took her into a new level of competition, and the team honours came before her first Providence season. 2

For a London family, the club MVP award and those later team honours show that the story has more than one milestone. A local player stayed in an OPDL environment for years, moved to another development setting and then became a university defender. Whitecaps London is pleased to celebrate every stage, from the years she spent here to the honours she earned after moving on. 2

Providence and a Canadian title

Stephanie joined Providence College's women's soccer team. In 2024 she started all 18 games and played 1,612 minutes. She returned in 2025 to start all 16 games, with three goals and a team-high 1,427 minutes. Providence named her a BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week in September and reported her All-BIG EAST Third Team selection. These are substantial achievements for a defender, verified by the college rather than inferred from a highlight clip. 2

Canada Soccer named Stephanie to its 2025 under-20 championship squad. The team won the Concacaf Women's U-20 Championship after an extra-time final against Mexico. Stephanie scored in Canada's opening win over Panama. Providence says she started four tournament games. We celebrate her place in a national team achievement while keeping the team result and her own contribution distinct. 234

Canada Soccer then selected her for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup squad. During that tournament, Concacaf recorded 91 completed passes for Stephanie in Canada's round-of-16 win over France. It was the highest match total by a Canadian player in that measure across the last four editions of the event. The win took Canada into the quarter-finals and gave our club another moment to cheer a former Whitecaps London player. 56

A club player we can celebrate

Providence's 2026 roster lists Stephanie as a junior defender. Her path now reaches from Whitecaps London OPDL to a university team and a Canada youth World Cup squad. Our club can be proud of the five years she spent here and the honours she earned afterward. 25

The next Whitecaps London child will have a different path. Stephanie's story asks no one to copy her results. It shows that a former club player can carry a big dream through several real stages, and that patient work can be part of a journey worth celebrating. We are proud that Stephanie is one of our own. 25
