Sarah Kaye Sparrow makes Whitecaps London proud through a journey from our London, Ontario, club to senior women's football in England. She played in a title-clinching match for Dorking Wanderers and later appeared for Dartford FC Women. The journey has taken a former club player across the Atlantic and into competitive senior football.
From our club to Dorking
Whitecaps London introduced Sarah in its March 2024 club podcast as a former player who had gone to England to play and study. The club described her as a member of its 2004 player group. Dorking Wanderers gave the connection its own public confirmation in March 2023, calling her a new signing who had previously played for London Whitecaps. A London youth player had become part of an English senior side, and our club was pleased to share her news.
Dorking's report of its final league match in May 2023 supplies a moment from the pitch. Sarah came on in the second half against Dulwich Hamlet and sent a ball across the face of goal as Dorking pressed forward. The team won the match 3-0 and secured the league title. Dorking's own account says the team also won the Capital Cup that season, completing a league and cup double. Sarah featured in the title-clinching match and was part of the squad that completed the double.
Her time there was more than a single appearance. In August 2024, Dorking's season preview named Sarah on its retained women's squad list for 2024/25. The preview described the team as preparing for another season in the fifth tier of the women's game in England. That is a dated account of where she stood then, rather than a claim that she still plays there today.
A Dartford chapter
Dartford FC Women's team page lists Sarah Sparrow as a midfielder wearing number 17. Its match reports also put her on the field in 2026. In the 4 October match against London Bees, Dartford reported a chance that fell to her in the 26th minute; her shot was saved. The 12 October report lists her in the starting team against Chatham Town. These modest, precise details matter. They show a continuing senior football chapter rather than a move that exists only in an announcement.
Sarah's path is her own. What London families can see is a former Whitecaps London player taking a place in English senior teams across more than one season. Our OPDL program is part of the local pathway she came through. For young club players, her appearance in Dorking's title-clinching match and her later Dartford starts are reasons to dream about where their work might take them. We are proud of Sarah and will keep cheering for her in England.
