Advanced Technical Training

Advanced Technical Training gives motivated players extra, high-quality touches on the ball in a focused environment that sharpens skills beyond regular team sessions.

Whitecaps London’s Advanced Technical Training (ATT) program is a focused winter supplement for players who are serious about elevating their technical level when outdoor training slows down. Delivered indoors over the winter months, ATT emphasizes high-repetition, ball-dominant sessions designed to sharpen first touch, dribbling, passing, receiving under pressure, finishing, and decision-making at game speed. The environment is demanding but purposeful, challenging players to execute cleanly, think quickly, and develop confidence on the ball without sacrificing quality.

ATT is open to players from both grassroots and competitive streams and is designed to complement, not replace, team training. By staying connected to the Whitecaps London environment through the winter, players build consistency in habits and technique while reinforcing the standards expected in higher-performance pathways such as OPDL, I-Model, and League1 Ontario. For ambitious athletes, Advanced Technical Training serves as a deliberate bridge between potential and performance — a place where details are refined and skill becomes instinct.

Advanced Technical Training sessions are led by Whitecaps London’s technical staff, with curriculum design and delivery overseen by the program’s Technical Lead, Garrincha, whose role is to create a demanding yet development-first environment for serious players. Coaches bring strong technical expertise and high energy to each session, using small groups, station-based work, and carefully designed drills to maximize ball contact, repetition, and individualized feedback.

Clear communication with families is a priority. Coaches set expectations around effort, attendance, and how ATT complements team training, ensuring players are challenged without being overloaded. The focus remains firmly on long-term improvement rather than short-term selection. By aligning Advanced Technical Training with the standards and curriculum of the BMO Academy Centres and the wider Whitecaps FC system, the technical team ensures that the habits, skills, and decision-making developed in ATT directly support player confidence, creativity, and readiness for future pathways such as OPDL, League1 Ontario, and beyond.
